My calling as a Christian Artist
by Finding You is finding me…
Christian artists who boldly declare their faith are rare for they will be the least accepted by society and unlikely to ever make it big in the industry. But it’s not about fame or fortune, it’s about your calling. I’m a Christian first before I ever consider myself an artist.
Nothing about my faith is casual.
I desire to participate in God’s plan for my life by following the desires He has placed on my heart. I’ve had the desire to be an artist my whole life but could never grasp colour, tonal value, shapes and forms. It was in 2010 that God’s seed that He had planted many years ago, started to grow and my artistic journey began. No seed gives a clue of its full potential. All we have to do is have the willingness to partner with God’s plan.
I literally started learning art from the bottom and was totally unqualified. God enabled me to learn all I know about art today. His Holy Spirit guided me to follow His plan without question, knowing that art was a part of His plan for me.
All art that I’ve ever created is deeply meaningful to me because it is God’s fruit being produced within me, showing outwardly.
My skill as an artist matters less to God than my willingness to partner with Him.
I am so blessed to partake in the special joy of creativity and to create what I consider Christian art. It may not resemble or depict pictures straight from the Bible but it does depict God’s light and Spirit within me.
Right now I’m on an adventure with God and there are many chapters in His book that He has prepared specially for me that have not been opened yet. My desire is to create meaningful art that fulfills my calling and delights in Him.
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9
What is God calling you to do today? Because I know that He has a special plan for all of us. You just have to take that step of faith.
